Birth is an opportunity to transcend. To rise above what we are accustomed to, reach deeper inside ourselves than we are familiar with, and see not only what we are truly made of, but the strength we can access in and through birth.

My Story

I am a mother of two beautiful boys. They challenge and delight me, and make me a better human.

I grew up in Eastern Europe and moved to California half a lifetime ago. I grew up in a large city, but love forests and  green spaces of all sizes.

Like so many doulas, my life was forever changed by my birth experiences. My own birth was fast, but emotionally difficult, even traumatic. That was a major reason why I chose home birth with my own children. Women should birth where they are safe and it might be a different place for different women. Both of my birth experiences were so profound that they served as the most significant events in my life. Every family deserves to experience the transcendence that accompanies having a great birth experience.

Pregnancy and birth made me appreciate my body much much more. I eat and cook healthier (I love cooking!), walk a lot, enjoy  yoga and meditate regularly.

I studied Fine Art and Photography and would be honored to take photos of your birth, your pregnancy and  your little ones.

I am in love with everything books and love researching and figuring out things. I have a good library of books connected to pregnancy, birth and postpartum that I am happy to share with my clients.

I have a green thumb. Nature endlessly fascinates me and always calms me. It doesn't need to be big (although I do enjoy camping in a forest or watching waves), it can be a fallen leaf half covered in mud in an unusual pattern.

I drink copious amounts of tea and can eat rice with veggies every day. I am an extraverted introvert: love people but also respect my space and everyone else's.
